Now that the semester and Christmas are over, I finally have time to put together this post and I’m SO EXCITED! Over Thanksgiving break, I had the chance to visit my sister who was studying abroad in Rome. We had the most amazing time and it was such an incredible experience. I’ve been dreaming of visiting Italy for so long and it totally surpassed all of my expectations. I was in awe!!! We explored all of Rome and Milan too! I will be sharing all of the breathtaking sights, the delicious meals, my outfits, and everything in between! It’s going to be a long post so grab a cup of coffee and get cozy cause we’re jet-setting off to Italy baby!!!! 

Sights 

My favorite spot in Rome! I could have sat here for hours just soaking it in. The Trevi Fountain is in such a cute area too! The surrounding streets are filled with the cutest shops and our family’s favorite restaurant, L’Antica Birreria Peroni. 

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pantheon! This one really sneaks up on you, Amy and I were just walking and there it was! This area is very cute, the little shops that line the streets are adorable. Definelty one of my favorite places in Rome. I honestly had to stand there for a minute and take it all in. It is so much bigger than I ever thought. 

The Duomo di Milano was so magnificent, it is hard to put into words. The amount of detail put into to every inch of this cathedral is unbelievable. No wonder it took over 800 years to be completed. We also had the opportunuty to tour the teraces, which if you hvae the chance to, it’s a must do! It was absoulty stunning! Ill share a picture bleow!

MANGIA! 

The best spaghetti with the most delicious sauce! This was such a cute little restaurant, only about 5 tables in the whole place. 

My favorite meal of the entire trip! Da Romolo was just around the corner from my sister’s apartment and thank god it was because I left so stuffed I could barely walk lol. I had homemade pasta with porcini mushrooms and cream sauce. If only you were able to taste it! We started the meals off with crispy vegetable and ended it with decaf espresso of course! What I love most about eating out in Italy is the experience. The servers actually want to be there and treat you like family. They are so proud of the food they serve. The environment in the restaurants are like no other. We often ventured away from the tourist area and found the little mom and pop shops. These places are the best, they’re also very cheap, that’s how you know you’re in the right place. 

The yummiest gelato at the famous Giolitti! This place was packed, for good reason. My sister and I waited for 15 mins to get out hands on this gelato.

I was so excited to try the Italian coffee! We started each day with a cappuccino. We went to one coffee shop so often they started giving us the friends and family discount, they were so sweet!
